Austin City Limits Music Festival

The Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL Festival) is an annual three-day American music festival that takes place in Austin, Texas at the city's central public park, Zilker Park. Each year, in addition to food & art, most from local vendors, ACL Festival brings together more than 130 acts from all over the world to play rock, indie, country, folk, electronic and more on eight stages. Over 70,000 fans attend the festival each day.

Named after the legendary PBS concert series, the Festival is produced by Austin-based C3 Presents, who also produce Lollapalooza. ACL Festival celebrated its 10th Anniversary on September 16–18, 2011over the world to play rock, indie, country, folk, electronic and more on eight stages. Over 70,000 fans attend the festival each day.

Barton Springs

Arguably one of the most iconic destinations in Austin, Barton Springs Pool epitomizes fun in the sun. On average, this spring-fed pool is a chilly 68 degrees, perfect for Texas heat. Gently sloping grass knolls surround this urban pool, allowing for sunbathing and lounging.

The vibe here is friendly and it is not uncommon for an impressive dive off the diving board — be it the graceful arc of a talented athlete or the humble plop of a young kid — to earn the applause of the watching crowd. A large part of the 1,000 feet pool has a natural bottom (read: seaweed-like grass) so floats and noodles are a good idea.

Titles >Do You Really Need Title Insurance

When a home is purchased, title insurance is one of the closing cost items on the closing statement. This insurance protects the buyer from defects in the title that are not discovered until after the closing. There are two kinds of title insurance--coverage that protects the lender for the balance of the mortgage if the buyers have a loan, and coverage that protects the buyers' equity in the property.

It is prudent to purchase owners' coverage because most of the title problems that arise after a closing are not from a sloppy title search, but are the result of inaccurate information in the public records. The ownership chain goes back a long way, and fraud or misrepresentation anywhere in the chain could mean big problems. Title insurance will protect you if a wife or husband did not properly sign off on the ownership papers or if the property was sold as part of an estate that was later disputed. Most people do not have to deal with the title insurance company after the closing, but this coverage could save your investment if a problem arises.
